  • Hugues de Saint-Cher, Postil on the whole bible

     * Edition de 1703 : Postilla Hugonis de Sancto Charo - ed. N. Pezzana, Venise, 1703 - 8 Vol.
    The digitisation of this work (image mode) is a first step to facilitate its access, and  hopefully in the future a full text edition will be available. Free access to the Postil is made possible courtesy of the Bibliothèque Municipale de Chambéry, that kindly authorised Glossae.net to use images of the edition kept in its rare books collections.
    NB: the text of this edition is apparently rather close to the one of the manuscripts diffused by exemplar and pecia; the page numbering is almost identical i all the editions of the Postil after 1600; it is recommended to make reference to it, to make it easier to localte quotes.

    * Incunable edition - 1498: Bible with Hugues de Saint-Cher's Postil, dedicatory epistle by Anton Koberger, Basel 29.10.1498 and 7.11.1502, and Johann Amerbach. P. 1-7, [Basel], [after 1498.10.29, before 1499] [BSB-Ink B-481 - GW 4285x] : Volume 1 - Volume 2 - Volume 3 - Volume 4 - Volume 5 - Volume 6 - Volume 7
    Nota bene : le texte de cette édition s'écarte fréquemment de celui des manuscrits copiés par exemplar et pecia et sa pagination diffère totalement de celle de la quasi totalité des éditions postérieures. Il est déconseillé de l'utiliser comme édition de référence, sauf raison précise et motivée.
