The text of the Glosses to the Bible often diverts from the critical text established in modern reference editions. Nevertheless, their apparatus mentions the main variants from the medieval manuscripts, and helps identifying the manuscript witnesses or sometimes the textual family to which the readings belong. For a scientific work on the Bible in the Middle Ages, it is thus necessary to use reference editions established by a collation of clearly identified manuscripts.
